A former bank manager and his wife will return to court in October after denying charges of robbing a bank in Wellsford north of Auckland.
Mark Andrew Scott, 39, and his wife Vanessa Ada Scott, 27, were charged after the Bank of New Zealand Wellsford branch was robbed in June.
Today in North Shore District Court they appeared on charges of aggravated robbery and being party to a kidnapping and were remanded in custody for a depositions hearing on October 12.
Two other men also charged with aggravated robbery had admitted their role and will appear for sentencing later this month.
The Scotts were charged after the other two men entered the bank through a back door shortly before opening time on June 20 and robbed staff after threatening them with knives.
In court today Mark Scott stood in the dock with his head down as his wife Vanessa stood behind him. As they were remanded in custody she placed her hand on his back.
