The Masterton District Brass Band is celebrating 140 years of non-stop operation with a street parade and concert this Saturday.
With special guests Wairarapa Youth Concert Band, Porirua Youth Brass Band and Masterton Youth Brass Band, the parade will start at 12.30pm from the corner of Dixon and Park Sts, heading down Queen St to Perry St.
A concert will start in the town hall at 1.30pm.
Band member George Groombridge said the band had about 30 members, with a lot of learners.
"It's a great tradition, 140 years non-stop."
