The television crews may be going but the big ball at the Eiffel Tower is staying.
TV3 marketing and communications director Roger Beaumont said the broadcaster was reviewing its staffing commitment after New Zealand's quarter-final loss.
The channel had more than 40 staff in France covering the World Cup and had paid many millions for broadcasting rights .
"It obviously changes the dynamic in France, and we'll be making some decisions in the next couple of days as to any adjustments in our resourcing up there," he said.
Current affairs show Campbell Live host John Campbell would miss out on his planned French jaunt.
"John won't be going to France now. Being the huge All Black fanatic he is, I think he'd find it a bit hard going to a final," Mr Beaumont said.
Tourism NZ chief executive George Hickton said promoting Aotearoa as the host of the next World Cup would continue. After October 20, it would be taken on the road until 2011.
