A psychotherapist has died five weeks after suffering head injuries in a cycling accident in Bali.
Sue Joyce was on a year-long holiday with her husband when she fell from her bike.
The mother-of-three was in intensive care in Singapore for three weeks before being flown to Auckland Hospital, but died on Thursday.
Her sister, Jude Mannion, said she was comforted that Joyce, 52, had spent "five months in paradise" with her husband, Geoff, before the accident.
She had collided with a motorcyclist while on a daily ride to buy fresh flowers, Mannion said.
She said her sister was a "ridiculously generous" person, who loved Bali and holidayed there every year.
Psychotherapists held a silent walk on Cheltenham Beach in Joyce's memory yesterday.
Friend and colleague Jean Burnton said her death was an "enormous loss".
"She will be very sadly missed, she was very witty and had a brilliant mind," she said.
Joyce served on the council of the New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists.
Joyce also leaves three adult children, Liam, Sophie and Paddy. Her funeral will be held at St-Matthew-in-the-City in Auckland tomorrow.
