KEY POINTS:
The third hearing of pre-trial matters for the retrial of David Bain on five murder charges went ahead in the High Court at Christchurch today.
Some media restrictions were imposed before the start of the hearing before Justice Graham Panckhurst because evidential matters were to be considered.
Reporting restrictions were also placed on two earlier hearings relating to the retrial, when they were heard in recent months.
One of those hearings also considered evidential matters and the second considered a change of venue from Dunedin, where Bain is accused of murdering five members of his family in 1994.
Last week, Justice Panckhurst issued his reserved decision that Christchurch would be the venue for the trial, which is at present set down for August.
