KEY POINTS:
Judy Bailey is sad and disappointed the plug has been pulled on the magazine she was editing but said the financial reality meant it could not carry on without advertising support.
Bailey had been editing the bi-monthly lifestyle title The Best of New Zealand: The Warehouse Magazine for six months and said she had really enjoyed the role.
"I loved it. The best part about it was it was so positive, this particular magazine, and so reflective of New Zealand's wider community."
The magazine, which is distributed throughout The Warehouse chain, launched in August last year but failed to make its mark in the already crowded lifestyle market.
"I'm really disappointed because I thought it was a great mag. We had a wonderful team and we'd had terrific response from the people who were reading it," Bailey said this morning.
"I think it had a lot going for it and I'm really sad."
Earlier this week, publisher Edward Aster confirmed a February-March edition of the magazine was unlikely but said it may return in the future.
