A man accused of stabbing three Te Puke men on Friday night remains behind bars after a court appearance today.
Gurcharan Singh, 35, of Te Puke, faced three counts of wounding with reckless disregard for the safety of others when he appeared in Tauranga District Court today.
Police were called to a house in Te Puke about 9.45pm, where the three stabbing victims were found - two of whom were treated at Tauranga Hospital and discharged.
The third man, aged 29, remains in a stable but serious condition in the hospital's intensive care unit.
Police opposed bail for Singh citing grave concerns there was an extremely high risk he may interfere with witnesses yet to be spoken by officers working on the investigation.
