KEY POINTS:
A Canterbury man charged over a cache of weapons - including a Glock pistol and a Taser - has been remanded on bail for a fortnight.
Aaron David Thayer, 35, unemployed, of Kaiapoi, was not required to enter a plea to six charges during his brief appearance in Christchurch District Court today.
Thayer is charged with receiving a Glock pistol, a .357 calibre revolver, a Heckler and Koch rifle and a Winchester rifle, all valued at $7300, knowing they were stolen.
He is also charged with possessing a restricted weapon - a Taser - without lawful purpose, and having a Winchester .357 rifle, two .22 calibre pistols, and a Heckler and Koch .223 rifle.
Police today withdrew one charge of possessing a Glock pistol, but prosecutor Sergeant Dave Murray told the court further charges were pending.
Judge David Saunders remanded Thayer on bail with an 8pm to 7am curfew and a non-association clause to September 25 so he could instruct his solicitor.
