A critically injured motorist has been flown to hospital after crashing off a Northland road overnight.
St John Ambulance said a helicopter ferried the badly injured person to Auckland City Hospital after the crash on Inland Rd, Karikari Peninsula, about 1.45am.
Police said the car had crashed into a ditch.
No other vehicles were involved.
The Serious Crash Unit was investigating.
