KEY POINTS:
Fancy popping up to the bach for a weekend these holidays?
The Auckland Regional Council has renovated a number of beach-front holiday homes in some of the city's regional parks just in time for summer.
Councillor Sandra Coney of the Parks and Heritage Committee says it is an affordable way to take in the city's coastal attractions.
She says many Aucklanders can no longer afford baches, due to the increase in the cost of coastal development. The homes are located mainly in the city's northern regional parks including Tawharanui, Wenderholm and Mahurangi.
Baches can be booked through the ARC.
