A 7-month-old baby found dead at her Morrinsville home is believed to have died from sudden infant death syndrome.
The baby was one of two to die suddenly in the Waikato in what police said were "very, very tragic" circumstances for both families.
A pathologist at Wellington Hospital completed an autopsy on the 7-month-old's body yesterday morning.
Hamilton coroner Peter Ryan said although the girl's cause of death had not been ascertained and further test results were awaited, it appeared to be a case of sudden infant death syndrome.
