Baby on way for Green MP and new partner

Green MP Ian Ewen-Street and new partner Sue Grey are having a baby.

It will be the 53-year-old MP's first child and Ms Grey's third, he said yesterday.

The couple were in the spotlight in May when Mr Ewen-Street withdrew from a parliamentary select committee's probe into corruption in the scampi industry citing a "perceived conflict of interest" after starting a relationship before Easter with Ms Grey, a lawyer who had been appearing at the inquiry.

Mr Ewen-Street is divorcing his wife of 16 years, Margaret O'Brien, a fellow Green.
