KEY POINTS:
A woman charged over the death of a baby which was found in bush at Parua Bay in Northland is appealing against a decision to refuse her bail.
Police allege the woman abandoned the 18-month-old girl on or about March 7 this year, thereby causing the child's death.
The woman, who has interim name suppression, is charged with manslaughter, abandoning a child and burglary.
Earlier this month Judge James Rota refused to release the woman on electronic bail.
The woman's lawyer Dave Sayes has lodged an appeal against that decision.
The case was called in the High Court at Whangarei yesterday but adjourned for a week when a date may be set for the hearing.
The woman faces a depositions hearing in August.
