An 11-month-old baby boy remains in a critical condition in Starship hospital, seven days after being hit by a SUV in Pukehina.
His mother, 33, who was also hit, is in a stable condition at Tauranga Hospital and the 2-year old girl was discharged last week from Waikato Hospital.
The woman was pushing her children in a stroller on the side of Otamarakau Valley Rd in Pukehina last Monday when they were hit by an SUV towing a trailer, which veered off the road.
The "freak accident" tossed the mum and her children through the air onto the road.
