KEY POINTS:
Name suppression has been lifted for a South Auckland man charged with assaulting his baby son.
Garth Anthony Tewaaka, 20, of Takanini, reappeared in Manukau District Court yesterday after the incident last month.
The charges were laid after Brodie Christopher Barry Tewaaka-Price, then four weeks old, was taken to Starship Hospital on October 24 with head injuries which police said were consistent with shaken baby syndrome.
Tewaaka was given name suppression at his previous court appearance on October 31 but that has now been lifted.
He will reappear at Manukau District Court on December 12 for a pre-depositions hearing.
It is believed Brodie has been discharged from hospital and is no longer in a critical condition but is still receiving ongoing medical attention.
