Wairarapa-Bush B team scored a resounding victory over King Country B team at Memorial Park on Saturday, winning 53-8.
Coach Steve Thompson was delighted at the way his team played.
"We wanted to play an open game. Every player had the licence to attack from any part of the field," Thompson said.
"It was especially pleasing to see them put 100 per cent into the effort and enjoy that style of play.
"We started strongly and continued with that intensity level for the most of the game."
Thompson emphasised it had been a whole team performance. "I couldn't single out any one individual. The run-on team and the bench were superb throughout.
"Our set pieces worked well and the backs complemented the solid platform laid by the forwards. Everyone stuck to the plan and things worked out well. An all-round team effort really."
Greg Wilson scored two tries, adding four conversions and one penalty.
Blair Hemming, Daniel Griffin, Tommy Sargent, Jovesa Naivalu, Lance Stevenson, Charlie Brown scored one try each, with Eli Telford converting one.
