"It's totally different when you're that young mate. You don't know what you're doing. This has been fun. It's the first time I've stepped in the ring as an adult and it's something I actually swore I'd never do."
The 1.88m tall, 101kg former second rower said he had enjoyed catching up with his former league mates while training for the event.
"Getting together with the league guys, because most of us live in Auckland and training together again and reminiscing, it's like we're back training again with the Warriors or the Kiwis. Being with them again is awesome."
Although Guttenbeil hadn't heard who his match up was, he said he was hearing plenty about what was going on in the rugby team's camp.
"I know the boys have been training hard and getting themselves in good condition which is great because [the event] deserves respect for what we are doing, getting into the ring."
The announcement of who will fight who is being announced today.
However it was reported yesterday Rotorua's Liam Messam would be taking on dual international Wendell Sailor while former Warrior captain Monty Betham would be going up against Commonwealth cruiserweight boxing champion Shane "The Mountain Warrior" Cameron.
It's a big step up for the 33-year-old league star who played 101 games for the Warriors.
Although Betham is no slouch in the ring either, he is unbeaten in his five pro fights since hanging up his footy boots five years ago and is in superb physical condition.
Among the other fighters confirmed for the event at the Trust Stadium Arena in Auckland are Issac Luke, Jerry Seuseu, Joe Vagana, Wairangi Koopu, Christian Cullen, Carlos Spencer, Troy Flavell and Slade McFarland. APNZ
