Chanel College has honoured the achievements this year of some of its best academic and sporting students.
Principal Grant Miles said senior student Ethan Kilmister was named 2015 Dux and received the Marcellin Champagnat Cup for Dux, the Mate Sola Scholarship and the Otago University Scholarship of $6000 to help fund tuition fees.
He also received 1st in Subject Awards for biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics with statistics. He was highly commended in history and also receives the Chemical Sciences Trophy for first in Level 3 Chemistry, the Physical Sciences Cup for first in Physics and the Life Sciences Cup for first in Biology.
The 2015 Proxime Accessit was awarded to senior student Andrew Miles, who received the Daniel Delaney Cup for Proxime Accessit, the Monsignor Moore Scholarship and the Archbishop's Award for Catholic Leadership.
He also received first in Subject Awards for English, history, physical education, and religious studies and was highly commended in mathematics with calculus. He received as well the Claire Hills Cup for first in Level 3 History, the Margaret Biggs Cup for Commitment and Knowledge in Level 3 Religious Studies and the Year 13 Cup for first in Level 3 English.
