Avonlea Butcher provided the highlight for the Masterton-based Mandy's Gymnastic Club at the Manawatu-Wanganui junior championships.
Competing in level 3B, Butcher won her grade by placing first on floor, third on vault and seventh on bar.
And she also received the trophy for the highest accumulated score recorded over two Manawatu competitions, having placed fifth overall at a previous event by finishing second on bar and fourth on vault.
Kayla Lewis contested the level 1B grade and finished sixth overall. She was fifth on vault and sixth on bar and floor. Talia Grey placed fourth on bar.
These results continued the success Mandy's has had at recent competitions, both with their competitive gymnasts as well as their recreational members.
At Rimutaka in recreational stage one Linda Evans was fourth overall by placing second on beam and jump and fourth on vault and bar. In stage two Emily Evers was first on bar, second on floor and fourth on beam and Jack Taylor was fourth in skipping.
In recreational stage three where they were competing against some ex-competitive gymnasts Tanya Shailer was first overall after placing first on bar and skipping, second on beam and third on vault and floor while Mary-Anne Evers was fourth on floor. In competitive level 1B Talia Grey was fourth on bar and in level 2B Toyah Chufton was seventh on vault.

Hutt Valley competition:.-Level 1B:Lucy France first on vault, Kayla Lewis third on bar. Level 2B: Nicolla Tregurtha seventh on floor, Toyah Churton sixth on bar. Level 3B: Avonlea Butcher third on bar and fifth overall, Megan Wright and Tennille Taylor, seventh equal on bar.
Palmerston North competition.-Level 1B: Kayla Lewis fourth on floor. Leve;l 3B: Tennille Taylor sixth on vault. Level 3C: Nicole Towgood eighth on bar and beam.
Wellington junior championships.-Level 3B: Megan Wright seventh on floor. Level 5: Caitlin Cullinane fifth on bar , sixth on beam and 10 th overall.
