Post mortem due to be held today on body of diver
A post mortem examination was due to be held in Auckland today on the body of a 45-year-old Northland man who died while diving at the mouth of the Whangaroa Harbour.
Murray Pourewa, from Kaeo, could not be revived by his diving companions after he failed to surface.
He was found after 15 minutes but police said the best efforts of the other six members of the diving party could not revive him.
It was believed he drowned but police said the autopsy would reveal the cause of death.
His diving gear had been impounded by police.
