A man found dead under an Auckland motorway overbridge yesterday has been identified but his relatives are still being told of his death, say police.
The man's body was found under the Bond St overbridge in Kingsland, near the Northwestern Motorway, shortly after midnight.
Ambulance officers were called but there was little they could do.
The man was a European aged in his mid to late 30s.
He will be publicly identified once his close relatives have been told.
Police said they were still conducting inquiries into the unexplained death.
Detective Inspector Scott Beard said a post-mortem examination would be done today. There was no obvious cause of death.
