Australian insurance companies are considering payouts to tourists caught up in the Bali terrorist bombing, but don't expect similar generosity in New Zealand.
Most companies across the Tasman are talking about making payments to injured Australians, despite an exclusion in their travel insurance policies which rule out claims for losses or injuries caused by terrorist acts.
As with Australia, our Government has said it will assist with travel costs out of Indonesia for those injured or killed by the twin blasts, but insurance companies appear unwilling to follow in a similar spirit.
A spokesman for Mike Henry (NZ) Ltd, one of the country's largest insurance brokers, said the terrorist exclusion ruled out any payments.
