Australian appointed head of Wellington zoo

Wellington Zoo has appointed an Australian as its new chief executive.

Former director of discovery and learning at Zoos Victoria Karen Fifield would take on the reins of the zoo in its centenary year.

Ms Fifield had spent 15 years in various roles within zoos, culminating in the role of acting CEO of Zoos Victoria, Wellington Zoo chairman Neale Pitches said today.
