The man accused of murdering "good samaritan" Austin Hemmings on an Auckland street last year was remanded in custody after a brief court appearance today.
Mr Hemmings, a Devonport father of three, was fatally stabbed after going to the aid of a woman in Auckland's central business district on September 25.
The accused, Pauesi Leofa Brown appeared at a pre-depositions hearing in Auckland District Court this morning.
He was remanded in custody until his next appearance for a one-day depositions hearing on August 21.
