There will be some "awkward" moments between the Australia and New Zealand Defence Force troops, in a military camp, after the final whistle blows in the Rugby World Cup final.
It will be a tense atmosphere at the Taji military camp in Iraq where both Australia and New Zealand Defence Force troops will anxiously watch the game together.
Australian Defence Force captain Matthew Daniell said he didn't expect to be watching the final surrounded by Kiwis.
"We've formed some close relationships with the Kiwis during this trip, which has resulted in a friendly sporting rivalry between the two forces.
"The result will more than likely mean some really awkward moments afterwards because national pride is on the line, but it will all be in good spirits," he said.
