Audi says its new A4 Avant offers more space and functionality than its predecessor.
Three variants of the sporty estate will arrive in New Zealand over the next few weeks.
The two four-wheel-drive quattro models are the 1.8-litre turbo at $82,500 and the 3.0-litre at $103,900. The front-drive 2.4-litre Avant, which uses the Constantly Variable Transmission Audi calls Multitronic, also costs $82,500.
The wheelbase is 33mm longer than that of its predecessor and rear passengers benefit from 43mm more kneeroom.
An increase in width to 1766mm provides front passengers with an extra 17mm of elbow room, with rear passengers gaining 29mm.
Audi said the rear suspension of the overall A4 range was designed to cater to the specific requirements of the Avant and its luggage area.
Luggage capacity with the rear seats up is now 442 litres, an increase of 52 litres over the outgoing model.
