Auckland's water supply dams are still only half full but the city's overall supply is in better shape than last year, Watercare says.
Storage volumes are still suffering the effects of the 2019-2020 drought, and both commercial and residential water-use restrictions are still in place more than a year later.
Watercare chief executive Jon Lamonte told Morning Report that the city's dams are 49.5 per cent full at present - normally they would be at around 77.1 per cent.
However, the city's supply is causing less concern than last year because it is not just relying on its dams.
