If central Auckland didn't know where Masterton was before, they probably do now.
MyMasterton, in partnership with the Wairarapa Times-Age, has loaded up the NZ Herald with its second magazine to promote Masterton as an alternative to the rigours of Auckland living.
This second edition of 100,000 copies, four pages larger than the first run, will appear in the metropolitan edition of the NZ Herald today in Auckland.
Since the first promotion by MyMasterton, the idea has been copied by other regional papers in Wanganui, Hawke's Bay and Rotorua.
Masterton mayor Lyn Patterson said we may not get thousands of Aucklanders coming to Wairarapa, "but they will know where we are by the time we're finished".
