In 2012 the Herald was appointed naming right partner for 'The New Zealand Herald Summer Zoo' for the December 2012-February 2013 season. Events included the 90th birthday celebrations in mid December, a school holiday activation commencing in late December and late nights for six consecutive Wednesdays through February and March.
In order to drive attendance to 'The New Zealand Herald Summer Zoo Lates' the Herald produced an adhesive (link to soldonapn.co.nz) which offered readers a 2-4-1 offer to the late night sessions.
