KEY POINTS:
A woman was bashed with a pot and robbed by two customers who had just ordered a $5 meal from her South Auckland takeaway shop.
The 50-year-old Chinese victim was working alone in the shop in Othello Drive, Flat Bush, when a man and a woman attacked her as she prepared their food on Wednesday.
The female customer, aged 15-20, held the woman's arms while the man, in his early twenties, robbed the till, a police spokeswoman said. They demanded keys to her $25,000 green Honda CRV.
"The victim ... handed the keys to the female offender and [she] then reached for a stainless-steel cooking pot and hit the victim twice across the back," the spokeswoman said.
Police said the victim was not seriously hurt but was left traumatised by the robbery.
The suspects were described as Maori or Pacific Islanders.
