Train services have resumed operating after a brake grid 'fire' saw 23 passengers evacuated in Auckland this afternoon.
Emergency services received reports of fire coming out of a train as it passed through the suburb of Parnell at 2:11pm.
The train stopped outside Vector Arena as its driver and firefighters worked to control excessive smoke billowing from a compartment near its front.
Veolia Transport said 23 passengers were initially moved to rear of the carriage. They have since been taken off the train and put on a replacement bus service to Britomart.
Three train services were cancelled while the rail line was cleared.
