Auckland Theatre Company has found new venues for three shows originally planned to play in the now-closed Maidment Theatre.
The theatre, at the University of Auckland, is closed indefinitely after a consultant engineer's report deemed it an earthquake risk. Its closure means ATC and the Auckland Arts Festival can no longer use the theatre for their productions.
ATC says three productions have been moved to alternative venues but, in some instances, the move has also affected season dates. Polo now plays at SkyCity Theatre from Thursday, February 11 to Sunday, February 28; That Bloody Woman is at SkyCity Theatre from Thursday, June 9 to Sunday, June 26 and Venus in Fur on at the Herald Theatre from Thursday, August 18 to Sunday, September 18. A venue has yet to be found for To Kill a Mockingbird.
All affected ticket holders will be contacted by ATC Box Office staff to transfer tickets to the new venues. Other productions during 2016 go ahead as planned.
