An Auckland teen faces a raft of violence charges after he allegedly assaulted a university warden on Dunedin's infamous Castle St.
A police spokeswoman said police were called to reports of disorderly behaviour in the student residential sector about 8.30pm.
An Otago University campus watch patroller spoke to a teenager who fled on foot.
Before police arrived he was found by the campus guard. The Auckland teen then allegedly assaulted the watchman.
The campus safety guard was taken to hospital with facial injuries.
Police said a 19-year-old Aucklander had been charged with two counts of threatening behaviour, assault with intent, breach of bail, and disorderly behaviour likely to cause violence.
