“Someone just wandered in whilst we were all teaching and decided they wanted to take her bike,” he said.
In a Facebook post, Pt Chevalier School said: “We had a great last day at school, lots to celebrate and some sad farewells as we said goodbye to our Year 6 children.
“Not a great day for one of our teacher aides, when she went to go home her bike was missing.
“We went through security cameras and identified this person who visited us while we were busy in classrooms before 11am today.
“Be on the lookout as it was not opportunistic. Car doors were also checked by this character. Our teacher aide will file a police report.”
Lethbridge said the teacher filed a police report.
“She’s a resilient sort, she’ll be right, but it was pretty gutting,” he said.
“We had an amazing day farewelling kids and staff so it was pretty disappointing at the end of the day to spend an hour trolling through security cameras to catch this guy who decided it was a good idea to steal someone’s bike.”
