KEY POINTS:
Auckland University of Technology design student Camille Howie won New Zealand's Vodafone ID Dunedin Emerging Designer Award in Dunedin last night.
She takes home $5000 in prize money, and sponsor products for her win which came as part of Dunedin Fashion Week.
Ms Howie's stand-out collection "Fold/Form" stole the show to a packed audience and media contingent.
Second prize of $3000 went to Emily Miller-Sharma, Massey University, for her collection "In my backyard".
Kate Anderson, Otago Polytechnic, won the $1000 third prize for her collection "Where is the line?"
A special prize to show in Italy's world-class Mittelmoda fashion event later in 2007 was won by Sam Fisher, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia.
In 2006, the special Mittelmoda prize went to former Otago Polytechnic student Shola Steele who is now working at Benetton.
Stefano Sopelza of Mittelmoda said Sam Fisher's collection was exceptional and deserved a place on the Italian catwalk.
