An Auckland school was put in lockdown this morning when a man made threats to staff at a nearby hospital and hid in the school's grounds.
The man made threats to staff at North Shore Hospital at 10.30am, a statement from police said.
Officers went to the hospital but the man ran from police and entered the Takapuna Normal Intermediate grounds.
The statement said the school was "briefly" put in lockdown as the man was apprehended and taken into police custody.
"There were no concerns for the safety of the staff or students, and the school has returned to operating as normal," the statement said.
