Auckland robberies possibly linked

Police are investigating four robberies that occurred in Auckland overnight.

Between 3am and 5.30am, two separate robberies occurred in Mission Bay and the CBD, as well as two more in Balmoral.

Detective Sergeant Andy King said all four incidents involved members of the public being threatened with machetes.

He said none of the victims were injured.

In a statement, he said the offences may have all been committed by the same group of people.

Police are looking to identify three men and one woman, described as being NZ European and aged in their late teens or early twenties.

They were dressed in dark-coloured hooded sweatshirts, and the woman is believed to have blonde hair tied back in a plait.

A maroon or purple sedan was possibly used by the group, he said.
