Auckland City residents seem to be living longer but Maori and Pacific people die younger.
The State of the City report has just been released by the Auckland City Council.
It covers economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being.
Females born between 2005 and 2007 can expect to live to 83 years old.
That's 0.6 years older than those born between 2000 and 2002.
Males born between 2005 and 2007 can expect to live to 79.6 - an increase of 1.9 years from those born between 2000 and 2002.
Among the Maori population, 57 per cent of deaths occur before the age of 65 years old, compared to 43 per cent of Pacific peoples and 18 per cent for non-Maori and non-Pacific.
