A power outage in Auckland this morning took out a major set of traffic lights and left several homes without power for some hours.
The outage was reported shortly after 7am, shutting down traffic lights on Remuera Road and delaying peak morning traffic.
Vector Energy spokeswoman Sandy Hodge said the outage occurred on the corner of Dilworth Ave and Macmurray Road in Remuera.
It was caused by a line down, which usually meant that a car had hit a lamp post, she said.
The outage also affected a small number of households in nearby Newmarket, Remuera and Greenlane.
