An Auckland man is in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Penrose yesterday.
The 68-year-old man, believed to have just come from a Warriors rugby league game played nearby, was struck near a bus stop on Great South Road about 6.20pm.
Constable Gerry Ryan of Auckland police said it was not known if the man was waiting at the bus stop, or walking on the footpath at the time.
Police had spoken with the driver, but it was too early to say if charges would be brought against her, he said.
The woman had co-operated with police, he said.
