The 2012 adidas Auckland Marathon is taking place today and will impact on traffic and public transport.
Here's what you need to know:
The event incorporates a full marathon, a half marathon, a quarter marathon, a 5km challenge and a kids marathon.
The marathon and half marathon start in Devonport, while the other races start in the Auckland CBD.
The following road closures and parking restrictions will be in place today. These closures apply to all except authorised and emergency vehicles.
Road closures
Full road closures for Sunday, 28 October unless otherwise stated:
Auckland Harbour Bridge and motorway:
State Highway 1 northern motorway between 4am and 10.30am, including Curran Street on-ramp northbound, Stafford Road off-ramp northbound, Onewa Road off-ramp northbound, Northcote Interchange northbound and Northcote Interchange southbound.
These closures apply to the northbound clip-on lanes (lanes 1 and 2) of the Auckland Harbour Bridge only. All other lanes on the bridge will be open to traffic.
Devonport:
King Edwards Parade (from Victoria Road to Church Street), between 3am and 7.30am.
Church Street, between 5.00am and 7.45am.
Vauxhall Road, Hamana Street, Seacliffe Avenue and Winscombe Street, between 4.30am and 7.45am.
Lake Road eastern side (from Winscombe Street to Esmonde Road), partial closure between 4.30am and 8.15am.

Public Transport
Due to traffic congestion on the North Shore from participants accessing the start line in Devonport and as public transport will be operating on a Sunday timetable, Auckland Transport strongly recommends that you consider utilising the pre-race services of the ferry or bus to get to the Marathon and Half Marathon start.
The other aircraft took longer to vacate the runway than anticipated.
