A man has been killed in a car crash near the Ellerslie onramp on Auckland's southern motorway.
He is believed to have died from a "medical crisis of some kind", a police statement said.
Officers have closed the Ellerslie interchange northbournd onramp as they deal with the crash, the statement added.
Elsewhere, motorists have been advised to drive with extra care after police received calls about surface flooding on parts of Tamaki Drive.
A spokesperson for the Police Northern Communications Centre said a number of callers had reported waves breaking over parts of the road near Okahu Bay.
Motorists were advised to avoid the stretch from Mechanics Bay to Ngapipi Rd while the
situation is being assessed, he said.
