A man accused of kidnapping two men from an Auckland house last month will remain in prison until a bail application is heard next week.
Joe Tie, 36, appeared via video link from Mt Eden Prison in Auckland District Court today on four charges - kidnapping, two counts of breach of release conditions, and participation in an organised criminal group.
He was remanded in custody until January 28 for a bail application, and will also reappear in court with his co-accused for a post-committal conference on February 9.
Tie is one of six men who face similar charges.
Five men who appeared in the Auckland District Court last week were also remanded to February 9.
Besi Lolohea Faapoi, 45, Ross Romana, 33, Ofisa Andrew Kopelani, 29, Robert Logo, 31, and Adrian Andrew Ng Wun, 24, face various charges including kidnap, assault with intent to injure and participating in an organised criminal group.
All six were arrested after armed police found two men with minor injuries in a house in Bond Street, Grey Lynn, on December 17.
