Much of New Zealand is in for a wet day, with thunder storms and even hail possible over Auckland.
"What we're seeing today is showery conditions over the country.
Much of the country is already experiencing showers," MetService meteorologist Karl Loots said.
There was a "moderate risk" of thunder showers on the west coast of the South Island and in the North Island from Taranaki northwards, including for Auckland and Bay of Plenty.
In Auckland, the thunder showers could hit this morning and afternoon, but the temperature was forecast to reach 15C.
