Auckland has had its biggest cruise season ever.
Just-released figures show the city welcomed a hundred cruise ships in the 2012/13 season.
That brought 178,000 passengers and 78,000 crew.
It resulted in an injection of over $116 million into the region's economy.
Mayor Len Brown is welcoming the cruise industry to Shed 10 on the waterfront this afternoon to celebrate its opening as a cruise ship and events facility.
