Work starts on Sunday on a $1 million makeover of the four centre lanes of the Auckland harbour bridge.
Transit New Zealand has warned motorists travelling over the bridge to expect delays as road crews work between 9pm and 5am to reseal the four centre lanes.
New seal is laid every four or five years and this year the job will take nearly two months. Work was due to begin last Sunday, but was delayed by bad weather.
This Sunday the four lanes will be closed at 9pm so contractors can rip up the old surface.
Transit New Zealand regional manager Richard Hancey said the work was done overnight to minimise traffic disruption.
