Firefighters were called to two scrub fires in Auckland this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Rukumoana Pl in Clendon Park, Manukau, just after 4pm.
Eight fire engines and two tankers worked on the blaze that reached an area of 15,000 sq m and threatened two houses, said Northern Fire Service communications shift manager Steve Smith.
Crews had the fire under control but were expected to remain at the scene for several more hours to dampen down the area, he said.
No one was injured and no houses evacuated, Mr Smith said.
