Auckland artist Martin Ball missed out on a prestigious Australian art prize yesterday after reaching the finals with his portrait of Neil Finn. Sydney artist Del Kathryn Barton won the 2008 Archibald Prize and A$50,000 ($59,000) for a self-portrait with her son and daughter.
