Auckland councillors will today vote on whether to pursue the Government's offer to hand over waterfront venue The Cloud and its share in Queens Wharf.
Sport and Recreation Minister Murray McCully is also offering to give the council the power to appoint five out of nine trustees to the Eden Park Trust Board.
In a report given to councillors, staff say there has been higher than expected revenue from The Cloud.
They say the split ownership of Queens Wharf has caused operational, accounting and valuation issues, which the transfer of ownership would resolve.
Officers say competition issues with Eden Park could be resolved by a law change and that appointing trustees would not change the Council's financial relationship with the stadium.
