Auckland Council is going digital with its monthly publication, Our Auckland, to reach more people.
The council is planning to launch a news website and mobile app next month to add to its Facebook, Twitter social media outlets and people like urban design champion Ludo Campbell-Reid to spread its message.
The project is being overseen by communication and engagement director Karl Ferguson and head of brand and channel Sophie Bostwick.
Mr Ferguson said it had reviewed its channels and found Aucklanders are increasingly consuming information through digital.
He said Our Auckland, which is distributed to more than 500,000 households, would stay in place. The new channels would use the Our Auckland name.
